watchtower publications exhibit a level of ignorance and in adequate education by its writers that is astounding, especially when it comes to logic and false arguments.
i recently received a copy of the 9-1-06 watchtower and discovered that it is a great example of how false arguments are used to manipulate the readers - primarily jehovah's witnesses.. passive voice: one of the prime ways that a false argument is made is through the passive voice.
example: "it is said that ...," or "there are those who say that ...," or "people wonder about ...," or "further, it was felt that .... ".
The WT really twists.. Yes, I was recently reading an article in the WT on blood... It kept saying that blood was sacred, to make it's point, not to take blood. But, then I realized, the bible doesn't say BLOOD IS SACRED. At least I don't think so. But I was amazed to realize that, as I heard it so much..I thought for sure it was in the bible.
Also, I was amazed to realize, the words GOVERNING BODY and ORGANIZATION are not in the bible either. But I've heard the words so much, I just assumed they were in there.. But alas..just brainwashing key notes..

after having been one of jehovah's witnesses either through being raised as one or getting the "truth" from the preaching work, some have reverted back to the organization as one of the "lost sheep".forgive us our trespasses .
it is well documented what the watchtower has done regarding the issues of.

I will never forgive them, because they will never, ever be sorry. They are very haughty, and because of that.. I think they qualify as the 'evil slave', who got drunk with power, and beat their fellow slaves.. And Jehovah and Jesus will soon take care of them..and throw them in the lot with the hypocrites..where the weeping and gnashing of teeth will be.
i mean, why the 1st century.

Well, I believe there is a 1st and a 2nd coming of Christ. and that both times he is a human man.
Also that there could be some geneology dug up under some of those old European churches..to eventually prove who he is...
i mean really...i keep making bad decisions..that seem "right " in the short term...yet go bad in the long term.. how is it possible for anyone to make good decisions..or be perfect..when we don't know what the end result of the decision is going to be?.
how can you make a mistake when you know what the end result of every decision is going to be?
guess you would almost have to do it on purpose.
Hello, glad to have you back.. I have been trying to grow and progress and make right decisions..too. So maybe when Jesus calls us..We'll be like the faithful virgins..who had enough oil..right? One foot in front of the other..that's it, right?

often we see pictures in books or on the net or even in jw magazines of what jesus may have looked like.
i googled jesus and found these pictures of what he may have looked like.. here are a few pictures i saw that didn't match what i expected jesus to look like.

i thought i read somewhere about it but can't seem to find it.
for example: did speaking in tongues stop with the death of the apostles as per the wtbts ?

I Cor. 13:8 Love never fails. But where there are prophesying, they will be done away with; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will be done away with.......10 but when that which is complete arrives, that which is partial will be done away with.
I think the tongues, are speaking in different languages as to be able to spread the good news. Not the incoerrant stuff. And I'm thinking, (that which is complete) would be Jesus on his second coming.. What do you think.? What else could it be? hmm ...the tongues definately end..right?
i went to kingdom hall today and they had the latest awake for me about evolution.. i guess my kingdom hall is a bit late maybe as i have seen others which had this awake already.
on the first hand it wasn't that bad as i had expected it.
not as bad as the latest creation book anyway.. is there any review done on the artikels here?.

I really like the big blue creation book.. as evolution doesn't make sense to me at all. At one time, I had a snake as an ancestor..no, not any logic there.

Wand... Why do you think you are still hanging on? Is it because you still feel there are many truths in it..? And that maybe God is still with them in some way? Or maybe for some reason you made a mistake leaving? Truth is, they are life ruiners and a major cult. But I do think Russell had God's favor..at least in the beginning..
